It is with deep gratitude that I thank those you who have consulted with me because you have helped me arrive at this awesome milestone. Without you this would not have happened, and I would not have had the honor and pleasure of knowing you as an astrology friend.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Astrology began as an intense interest after I picked up Linda Goodman’s “Sun Signs.” I got my chart done by a local astrologer way back in 1980. When I asked him a lot of questions of how it was done, he sent me to a local astrology group who met in someone’s finished basement. Back then astrology information, Alice Bailey , Rudolph Steiner Lao Russell and Edgar Cayce (all of whom I have studied) books were only available from small, privately owned shops that included books. Border’s did not exist yet.

The women who owned the shop also gave astrology and tarot lessons that I immediately signed up for. When they asked me what I knew, they put me in the astrology intermediate class. My business of 16-1/2 years had just been sold, so I had time to study eight hours a day and spend the thirty hours it took to write out one horoscope interpretation. Of course, we calculated the charts by hand, there were no computers to do it for us. The first astrology computer program was actually a little machine that only did astrology charts and printed everything out in a square. Eventually, computer software was invented to do the math of constructing horoscopes on a PC. Today we call a PC a desktop computer. The tarot came naturally and I would read for fun for the teachers and other students. Now tarot readings have become professional, too.

When I discovered that your soul’s purpose is revealed in your horoscope I was thrilled. Finally, here is a practical and easily understood way to discover why you are here this lifetime. Advanced studies included giving presentations to the class of the astrology subject that most interested us. My class presentations were on your soul’s purpose and transformation this lifetime, preparing for the next. During the advanced classes the other students gathered around me before the teacher arrived to ask me questions. Oh, Oh, something was up. I did not want to embarrass the teacher, so I quietly explained to the women who ran the center and quit the advanced class to study privately with a more advanced astrologer. Students and others asked me to interpret their charts, and an unexpected career as an astrologer began.

This was in 1980 when Radio Shack presented the first desk top computer. Since I had no idea astrology would become a career, I decided to learn how to use the computer which led to a job as an executive secretary, which supported me while I continued to do charts. The first computers could not calculate charts, that was much too complicated. A man named Bill Gates made a statement that no one would need more that 275k memory!

One thing leads to another, and my astrology activities went from doing charts to giving astrology lectures and teaching at the local college. Since second grade I began what can be called public speaking because our school had no microphones and, since I had the loudest voice, was chosen to make announcements and to read aloud in front of the class. Also, my dress shop gave many fashion shows which I announced, so I already knew how to speak in front of people and was not too afraid, although still get tummy flutters.

Simultaneously I became involved with the Edgar Cayce people, both locally and in Virginia Beach. Our study group was a group of astrologers, so our discussions were translated into astrology terms. At the A.R.E. in Virginia Beach many people are interested in astrology, so we could talk about astrology and learn from each other. At the yearly A.R.E. Congresses (member gatherings) I gave the astrology talks, and eventually taught formal astrology classes at the A.R.E. (Edgar Cayce) Headquarters in Virginia Beach. The audio tapes of the classes are still available from Patty.

Beginning 1981 people began paying me for their astrological interpretations which brought me into professional status. There was still no inkling that 25 years later, I would have consulted with thousands of people worldwide, been on radio and TV, given lectures and workshops throughout America and written a book. Eventually I could not find a teacher who could teach me any more, they all said I would have to learn from experience. Twenty five years later I am still learning, but from you, the people who consult with me.

The commitment that I made in 1981 when I became professional, to help you understand why you are here, is still the strong motivating force for “doing charts.” One of the most important things I have learned throughout the years is that each sign is equally important, we all experience life just a little differently and see through the lens of our sign.

The first chart wheels were hand drawn, now they are beautifully printed out in color for you. There were no printed time maps for you to refer to, you had to write the dates down as your reading progressed. Now your reading includes the dates of important events professionally printed out for your reference and notes.

I am grateful for the confidence those of you who have had readings and trust in my astrological interpretation for you. Your feedback gives me more understanding and enriches future interpretations to others. Thank you.
